I have the honour to report that at a meeting held on Thursday, the 22nd of October, the Native Affairs Committee unanimously passed the following resolution : — " That the Native Affairs Committee desires to express and place on record its high appreciation of the services rendered by His Honour Chief Judge R. N. Jones in connection with the measures consolidating the Native Land Laws of the Dominion, and directs that this resolution be recorded on the minutes of the Committee, and be reported to the House." 27th October, 1931. Final Kepobt. I have the honour to report that the Native Affairs Committee held its final meeting on the 3rd November. The Committee, consisting of fifteen members, held fourteen meetings during the session, the average attendance at each meeting being seven. Including twenty-seven petitions brought forward from 1930, the Committee had before it sixty-six petitions—thirty-one were reported on, and thirty-five are held over. The Native Land Bill and the Native Purposes Bill were duly considered and reported on. Parliamentary papers No. 71, 147, and 163 were considered and reported on. 7th November, 1931. Cecil H.
