Extracts from the Journals of the House of Representatives. Tuesday, the 21st Day of July, 1931. Ordered, " That a Native Affairs Committee, consisting, by leave, of fifteen members, be appointed to consider all petitions, reports, returns, and other documents relating to affairs especially affecting the Native race that may be brought before the House this session, and from time to time to report thereon to the House ; with power to call for persons and papers ; three to be a quorum : the Committee to consist of Mr. Broadfoot, Mr. Clinkard, the Right Hon. Mr. Coates, Mr. Healy, Mr. Henare, Mr. Howard, Mr. Langstone, Mr. Makitanara, Mr. Martin, Mr. O'Brien, Captain Rushworth, Mr. Taite te Tomo, Mr. Waite, Mr. Williams, and the mover."—(Hon. Mr. Veitch for Hon. Sir Apirana No ata.) Tuesday, the 28th Day of July, 1931. Ordered, That all petitions not finally dealt with during the session of 1930 be again referred to the same Committees as they were referred to during the said session, and that all petitions received during the first session of 1931 be dealt with as if they had been received this session."—(Right Hon. Mr. Forbes.) Memorandum for the Chairman of the Native Affairs Committee.—" Paper No. 71 (Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1928 : Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 102 of 1928, of Rangihawe te Kaho, relative to Okahu Block) stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—T. D. H. Hall, Clerk of the House of Representatives. Thursday, the 20th Day of August, 1931. Ordered, " That the petitions of Watanui Takiwa and Ngahoki P. Rikiliana be referred direct to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Mr. Te Tomo.) Friday, the 21st Day of August, 1931. Ordered, " That the petition of Pepene Eketone and others be referred direct to the Native Affairs Committee." (Mr. Te Tomo.) Friday, the 28th Day oe August, 1931. Ordered, " That the petition of Tupito Maruera and another be referred direct to the Native Affairs Committee." (Mr. Makitanara.) Saturday, the 19th Day of September, 1931. Memorandum for the Chairman of the Native Affairs Committee.—" Paper No. 147 (Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Act, 1930 : Report and Recommendation on Petition No. 124, 1930, of Heni Putiputi Roki, alias Heni te Matekino), presented on Friday, the 18th day of September, 1931, stands referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—T. D. H. Hall, Clerk of the House of Representatives. Tuesday, the 6th Day of October, 1931. Ordered, " That the petition of F. J. Burt and another be referred to the Native Affairs Committee."—(Mr. Macmillau.) Friday, the 9th Day of October, 1931.
