No. 46/1930. —Petition of Hoera Kewa and 3 Others, of G-isborne. Praying for relief in connection with the Estate of Heni Parekuta Ahuroa (deceased). I have the honour to report that in the opinion of the Committee this petition should be referred to the Government for favourable consideration. 27th August, 1931.

[Tbanslation.] Pitihana Nama 46/1930, a Hoera Kewa ratou ko etahi atu tokotoru, o Kihipane. E raoi ana kia whakaoraina mo te taha ki nga taonga tinana me nga taonga whenua o Parekuta Ahuroa kua mate. E whai honore ana ahau kite ripoata kite whakaaro o te Komiti ko tenei pitihana me t.uku ki te Kawanatanga kia whiriwhiria paitia. 27 o Akuhata, 1931.

Native Land Bill. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee, to which was referred the Native Land Bill, has duly considered the same, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. 20th October, 1931. Native Purposes Bill. I am directed to report that the Native Affairs Committee, to which was referred the Native Purposes Bill, has duly considered the same, and recommends that the Bill be allowed to proceed, subject to the amendments shown on a copy of the Bill attached hereto. 27th October, 1931.

Special Report. I have the honour to report that at a meeting held on Thursday, the 22nd of October, the Native Affairs Committee unanimously passed the following resolution : — " That the Native Affairs Committee desires to express and place on record its high appreciation of the services rendered by His Honour Chief Judge R. N. Jones in connection with the measures consolidating the Native Land Laws of the Dominion, and directs that this resolution be recorded on the minutes of the Committee, and be reported to the House." 27th October, 1931.
