U.S.-FRENCH ARMS AGREEMENT
ASSEMBLY APPROVES LONDON, March 16. Reuter’s Paris correspondent says that the French National by 421 votes to 179, ratified the Atlantic Pact agreement by which the United States will send arms to France. The vote came at the end of a surprisingly calm two-day debate, free of the fist fights and noisy interruptions that marked last week’s debate on anti-sabotage and security measures. The Minister of Defence (Mr Rene Pleven) said that France should get armaments worth £178,000,000 this year, and the total delivery would be worth about £392,000,000.
