FINNISH DOCKERS STRIKE

GOVERNMENT TAKES ACTION (Rec. 10.30 a.m.) HELSINKI, Aug. 14. Finland’s Social Democratic Government used its emergency powers late to-day and declared Hangoe on tlie south-west coast an open port to break the nation-wide dockers’ strike called by the Communist-led Transport Workera’ Union. The dockers struck this morning, bringing all shipping to a standstill. All ships are now to be directed to Hangoe and if the dockers refuse to work them the Government will use troops.

One striker was killed and six strikers and 10 policemen injured when the police opened firo after 1500 striking lumber workers, in Komi had attacked them with shotguns and stones. ' 1 .
