GREEK ARMY DRIVE
GUERILLA FORCE ROUTED (Rec. 11.0 a.m.) ATHENS, April IS. Front line dispatches said to-day that the army drive this, morning, preceded by a. clever midnight action, completely cleared the entire area of strongly fortified guerilla positions south of the Savantaporos River in Grammos. , More than 100 guerillas were slam and 60 taken prisoner.
The dispatches said that army commandos took guerillas defending Mount Kanzikon by surprise, and after savage fighting, in which knives, handgrenades and bayonets were used, tiie entire guerilla force was eliminated. Athens police announced that they had arrested 73 Communists in the Piraeus who were actively engaged in subversive activities recruiting for the guerilla army, and helping and harbouring Communists who were wanted by the police.
