? . .. PREPARING TO RECEIVE VISITORS (Rec. 11.10 a.m.) LONDON, April 18. Government officials have been working all through the' Easter holidays arranging for the Commonwealth conference and the reception of visiting statesmen. Mr Attlee, who has- been at Chequers,, in Buckinghamshire, for the week-end, returned to London to-day to supervise the final arrangements. Mr Attlee devoted much of bis holiday to the study of reports published by Britain’s special envoys after their recent flying visits to Commonwealth capitals for personal talks with Prime Ministers there.
MINISTERS REACH KARACHI (Dec. 11.30) KARACHI/ April 18. The R.t. Hon. P. Fraser and Mr J. B. Chifley reached Karachi to-night on tlieir way to the London conference.
