ANNUAL MEETING AT ASHBURTON A short address on recent political events in New Zealand was given by Mr R. G. Gerard, M.P., for Ashburton, at the annual meeting of the Ashburton. Electorate Committee of the New Zealand National Party, held in the Orange Hall this week. The chairman, Mr L. A. Charles, briefly reviewed the activities of the committee during the past 12 months, and the financial statement was read by the secretary, Mr W. H. Dalton. The election of officers resulted as follows: President, Mr L. A. Charles; deputy-chairman, Mr S. H. Lill; auditor, Mr S. H. Truman; finance committee, Messrs R. D. Robinson, C. R. Barnett, D. M. Bruce, A. W. Wilson, Charles and Lill; delegates to divisional committee, Mesdames J. R. Wells, A. Wilson, A. Cromie and C. W. Anderson, Mies I. McCormack, .Messrs Charles, Lill, G. Johnston, I. M. Ritchie A. W. Wilson, F. Greenslade and D. M. Bruce r delegates to Dominion headquarters, Messrs Charles, Lill and G, Johnston and Mrs J. R. Wells.
