BODY FOUND ON BEACH

PILE OF CLOTHING IDENTIFIED (P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. The body of Edward Walter Richard Savage, aged 54, single, labourer, who was to have appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-morrow on a charge of indecent assault on a female, Avas washed up on North 1 Beach this morning. A pile of clothes found, in the sandhills Avas subsequently established as belonging to Savage. An inquest Avas opened before the Coroner, Mr Raymond Ferner, this afternoon for identification. -
