STRONG CANTERBURY SIDE A strong Canterbury tennis team which included many players on the provincial ranking ladder beat the senior representative team of the MidCanterbury Lawn Tennis Sub-Associa-tion by 33 matches to seven. The match was played at Ashburton on Saturday. The winning margin perhaps flatters the visiting team, as in the doubles play six matches were won by them by the minimum margin, ancl a further five matches went to the visitors who obtained nine games to the home combinations’ seven. In singles play, the Canterbury men won six of the ten matches and the Canterbury women won eight matches to two. Murray Beats Dymond ■ A fine performance was put up by P. J. Murray (Mid-Canterbury) who heat the former Wilding Shield player. H. Dymond. (5-5 in the third set after being down 2-5.
