WOMEN’S INSTITUTE

PLANS FOR TINWALD BIRTHDAY PARTY 1 There was a good attendance at the monthly meeting of the Tinwald Women’s Institute. The president, Mrs Rodd, presided and welcomed Mrs J. McQuilkin and Mrs Chisnall. An invitation was received from Allenton W.l.‘to attend the 16th annual birthday party to be held on July 23. Mrs Rodd 'and Mrs Roffey 'will represent Tinwald. The president reported that a group meeting would be held at Tinwald on September 17, and three hostesses from each W. 1., and Tinwald W. 1., would supply the sandwiches. It was decided to complete the special competition at the August meeting. It was decided to hold the birthday party on September 24 if possible. The roll-call was well responded to. Both speakers were accorded a hearty vote of thanks. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses (Mesdames Aldridge, Mackenzie and Roberts).
