Negro 111-treated —A Suwanee County constable, Tom Crews, was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment and fined 1000 dollars on a charge of violating the civil rights of a negro farmhand bv beating him until lie jumped vinto the Suwanee River and was drowned, states a New York message. The Federal Court charged Crews with violating the negro’s constitutional right in that lie died for life and liberty without the due process of the law.
