Widespread Police Search
(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright.) (Rec. 12.25 p.m.) LONDON, August 28.
The French police are making a nation-wide search for 14 alleged Jewish terrorists who have sworn to “.get” Mr Bevin, says Reuter’s Paris correspondent.
Scotland Yard told the French police that the terrorists are believed to be in France. They are suspected of being concerned in the King David Hotel outrage.
The head of the French security police, M. Andre, said: “I have combed Paris for the terrorists. They have not been found in the capital, but we will cast a dragnet throughout France.”
The correspondent adds that stringent security measures are being taken at the King George V. Hotel in Paris, where the British delegation is staying, and als’o at Luxembourg Palace.
