HINDS

P.W.M.U. MEETING. The monthly meeting of the Hinds Branch of the P.W.M.U. and Guild took the form of a garden party, and was held at the residence of Mr and Mrs K. J. MacKenzie, Ealing. There was a large attendance of members and visitors. The Rev. N. Rodgers, of Orari, addressed the gathering and officially opened the function. Those in charge of stalls were —Plants, Miss F. Tait; bring and buy, Mesdames H. Tait, L. Moore and H. Price; ice cream Misses Ambler and Tarbotton. Gaines and competitions were enjoyed, the winners being: Croquet, Miss Muriel Leith; nail-driving, Mrs L. Moore; treasure hunt, Mrs R. Reith. A small auction of unsold goods was conducted by Mr D. McKenzie. As a result of the party quite a satistory sum was realised. A hearty vote of thanks was passed to Mrs McKenzie for the use of her home and grounds.
