FAREWELL FUNCTION

lowcliffe-coldstream The residents of the Lowcliffe-Cold-stream districts gathered in the Lowcliffe School on Friday evening to bid farewell to Mr and Mrs J. W. Ownsworth and Miss G. Ownsworth. Mr D. M. Bruce spoke on behalf of the Lowcliffe School Committee, saying that the Ownsworth family had been residents of the district for over 30 years, Miss Ownsworth being caretaker of the school for several years. Mr R. E. Cross, on behalf of the residents, presented the guests with a cheque and wished them good health and prosperity in their new home. Other speakers were Mrs H. Price and Mr R. Woodward. Mr and Miss Owiisworth suitably replied. The evening was spent in cards and dancing. Prizes were won by Miss F. Tait and Mr F. Harris and Mrs A. Bond and Mr W. Scott. Music for dancing was supplied by Miss T. McKay. MI7G. Walton was master of ceremonies.
