DANCE AT METHVEN.

A very successful dance promoted by the Linen Flax Employees’ Social Committee, held in the Methven Town Hall, was well attended. Music was supplied by Prattley’s Orchestra (Ashburton), extras being played by Miss E. McNamara, Messrs W. Stevens, and J, Cretney. Solos were sung by Miss Kathleen Beatty. Mr W. J. Dolan was Master of Ceremonies. Novelty dances were won as follow: Monte Carlo, Mr J. Ede and Miss M. Loekhead; statue barn dance, Mr A. Owen and Miss Doris Owen; lucky spot, Mr B. Manning and Miss V. Kelliher.
