BEAUTIFULLY FINE TO-DAY. Beautifully fine conditions favoured Ashburton to-day, tho sun shining brightly from a- cloudless sky. A frost of 5.5 degrees urns recorded in tho morning. HEAVY SNOW IN OTAGO. (P.A.) DUNEDIN, June 27. After a mild winter so far in Dunedin, there was a sudden change in the week-end to conditions of unusual severity, and this morning the hills surrounding the r city carried a mantle of snow. Rain and sleet showers fell during the day, and there was a strong southwest wind. Heavy falls of snow, ranging up to as much .as 18 inches, are reported from Central Otago, where telegraphic communications and power supply were interrupted in several places. TO-DAY’S FORECAST. (P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows •. Moderate to fresh west to northwest- winds.
