PETROL FOR HARVEST.

STORAGE ON FARMS SUGGESTED. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. • Urgent representations to have petrol storage decentralised by placing drums on farms are to be made by the North Canterbury district executive of the New Zealand Fanners’ Union. In a. long discussion, yesterday, some parts of which were not available for publication, members approved the following resolution:—“That all fuel required to harvest the 1942-4-3 crop be placed on farms under bond.” After a discussion in committee, it was agreed that Mr I. L, Coop and Mr Earl should place the matter Irefore the oil fuel authorities. Several speakers said that a big factor working against the adoption of the suggestion might well bo a shortage of petrol drums.
