SUB-CENTRE CHAMPIONSHIPS. The executive of the Ashburton SubCentre of the Bowling Association met last evening, when Mr E. O. Bathurst presided. It was decided that the sub-centre championships he played: on the Ashburton green on Saturday. The following is the draw :—- First Round—Singles: Rakaia v. Methven; Allenton v. Ashburton. Pairs: Rakaia v. Ashburton; Methven v. Allenton. Fours:’ Ashburton v. Methven; Allenton v. Rakaia. The pairs and fours will start at 10 a.rn., the singles at 11 a.in., and the -fin ole 'O-f. 1 *3O n rn
Matches between, the'South Canterbury and Ashburton Sub-Cer.tre will be played at Ashburton instead of at Allenton, on March 21\ It is intended to hold an open pairs tournament on Friday, April 3, provided 16 or more players enter. The Ashburton and Allenton greens will be used. THE ASHBURTON CLUB. The committee of the Ashburton Bowling Club met last night, the president (Mr F. Pritchard) presiding, it was decided to arrange matches with the Rakaia and Canterbury clubs. The season will be closed on Saturday, April 11. As: the top green is under repair the Allenton Club has consented to take surplus players whenever possible.
