RUGBY FOOTBALL.
THE OLD BOYS’ CLUB
ANNUAL ELECTION OF OFFICERS
The annual meeting of the Old Boys 1 Football Club was held last- evening.
In the report, special reference was made to the number of members of the club serving in the Army, Navy and Air Force. Officers were elected as follow: — Patron, Mr W. S. Kerr; president, Mr F. Robilliard; vice-presidents, Messrs J. W. Bowden, R, S. White, RMathieson, E. Smitlieram, G. d’Auvergne, E. A. Cockroft, W. Woods, J. Stewart, J. Triggs and A. Hayston ; .club captain, Mir A. Fergus; secretary and treasurer, Mr S. Lemon; committee, Messrs J. Lloyd, W. Smitlieram, K. Lowery, G. Eyies> W'. Brick. Mr N. Robilliard was nominated as president of the Rugby Union and Messrs K. Lowery and A. Thomson as vicepresidents. Messrs A. Fergus, W. Smitlieram, J. Lloyd and S'. Lemon were appointed delegates to the Rugby Union.
Those present stood in l silence out of respect to the late Dr. G. I. Miller (a
vice-president) and the late SergeantGunner Noel Thomson (a member). Appreciation of the work of Messrs V. O’Dbnoghue as secretary and treasurer and A. Bradford, who have joined the fighting forces, was expressed. Thanks, were passed to those who had lent their cars during the season, to. Mr W. B. Thomas for auditing the book's, and to the High School Board for the use of facilities at the school. It was decided to hold the first training night on Tuesday, April 15, and to arrange a friendly match for Saturday, April 19.
