THE GERMAN CLAIMS.

TWO DESTROYERS TORPEDOED.

SINKING OF OTHER VESSELS

(Received This Day, 11.20 a.m.) LONDON, November 29

Nothing is known in London either of the Italians’ claim that they torpedoed three merchantmen in the Red Sea, or of the German claim that they have sunk a 20,000-ton ship in the Atlantic. 1

The German communique claims that in a- naval battle at the western exit to the Channel, close to the British coast, German destroyers torpedoed two British destroyers. Other Gei-man destroyers sank two steamers and two smaller auxiliaries off the south' coast. The German ships were not damaged.
