Mr A. A. McDonald returned to Ashburton this morning from the North Island.
Mr Bruce Brown (farm appraiser for the Bay of Plenty district) arrived in Ashburton yesterday and will finally leave for the north to-morrow evening.
Mr A. Black, of the staff of Mr S. Osborne, will leave Ashburton on Monday week to take ■up a position with the transport section of the Royal New Zealand Air Force at Wigjam.
Tho loss to the Borough of Ashburton through the death of Dr. G. I. Milieu' was referred to by the chairman of the Tinwald Town Board (Mr !H. B. Millichamp) at a meeting of the Board last evening. A motion of sympathy with Dr. Miller's relatives was carried. A motion of sympathy with the relatives of the late Dr. G. I. Miller was passed at a meeting of the Automobile Association (Canterbury) held at Christchurch last evening. Similar resolutions were carried by the Hampstead Women’s Institute and the Ashburton Lodge, M.TJ.i.0.0.F.
