TINWALD TOWN BOARD
ACTING-CLERK APPOINTED. The Timvald Town Board decided at its monthly meeting last evening to donate £IOO to the Million Pound AllPurposes Patriotic Appeal. There were present: 'Messrs H. B. Millichamp (chairman), W. .Bryant, H. W. Carpendale, A. Simpson and J. L. Soal. The Ashburton branch of the Plunket Society wrote asking for a donation and it was resolved to give £2 2s. The resignation of the caretaker ol the Tinwald Town Hall, Miss M. Haar, was received, and accepted with regret It was decided to advertise for applications for the position. The chairman said that as the derk (Mr J. B. Nicoll) would probably be going into camp 'shortly, it would be advisable to appoint an acting-deni, to take over duties^on the departure of the present clerk. It was decided to appoint Mr W. B. Thomas as actingclerk. #
