FLOODS RECEDE.
COLD WEATHER IN VICTORIA.

MELBOURNE, July 5,
All the floods in Victoria have receded, and the rain has ceased. The weather is fine but bitterly cold, with snow covering all the highlands. With the temperature in the city at 35.9 degrees, this morning was the coldest of the year. The maximum temperature for the day was 52 degrees. Frosts and fogs are forecast. Ample snow covers all the ski runs, and tho various resorts are crowded with followers of snow sports.
