THIEVES’ £3OOO HAUL

LONDON, June 23

The value of tho jewellery stolen from the Chesham Place (London) house of 'Lord Wakeliurst, Governor of New South Wales, is now stated to be at least .£3OOO. It included a magnificent diamond tiara.

It is possible that the burglary occurred several days ago, as Lady Wakehurst and the family had gone to Ascot to stay with friends. The robbery was discovered on their return to town yesterday. There was no sign of a forced entry.
