• 7.v , t ANNUAL HILL CLIMB, ASHBURTON CLUB’S COMPETITION • •; . \ : A■■ vVi- ri > A large gathering of spectators who lined all the vantage points witnessed some excellent hill climbing at the annual road climb competitions conducted by the Ashburton Motdr-Cycle Club on the property of Mr E. J. Watson at Highbank on Sunday. The hill was in excellent condition and fast times were the order of the day, J. E. Smith getting within l-ssec of the record established last year by H. C. L. Browning. The 350 c.c. championship, run for the first time, resulted in a very fine performance on the part of R. M. Chambers', whose time, 63 3-ssee, was fast travelling for a 350 c.c. machine.
