HIGH SCHOOL OLD BOYS’ CLUB. SUCCESSFUL SEASON REVIEWED. A season of many successes was experienced by the Ashburton High School Old Boys’ Football Club last year, according to the report presented at the annual meeting of the Club last evening. ' The president (Mr N. Robilliard) presided. There was an approximate membership of 60 players during the season, a slight increase on the previous year, stated the report. The finances of the Club were in a healthy condition, the season concluding with a credit balance of £l6 14s, It was hoped to consoli-
date the position during the coming season. Teams were entered in the senior, junior, and third grade competitions. The Club was successful in winning the senior competition. Throughout the season the senior team maintained a standard of plav which had not been evident in club football for some years. The team owed its thanks to Messrs A. Bradford and N. Robilliard, both of whom kept the players enthusiastic and keen. This team was also the runnerup team in the senior seven-a-side, being defeated after a close and interesting struggle. The junior team was one of outstanding ability, winning the junior competition and the junior seven-a-side tournament. “While we are in the fortunate position of having such keen and outstanding playeis coming on, the prestige of the club will not wane,” said the report.
