THE DUKE OF KENT.
VOYAGE IN STRATHAIRD. PASSENGER ACCOMMODATION. LONDON, March 2. The Governor-General-elect of Australia, the Duke of Kent, and the Duchess of Kent have decided to leave England for Australia in October. They will travel in the P. and 0. liner Strathaird. The Strathaird will probably be redecorated and refitted to adapt the accommodation to the requirements of the Duke of Kent’s suite. It, is considered certain that ordinary passengers, will he carried, hut the company has not yet made an official statement on the matter. It is stated, however, that it , is probable that the tourist quarters will be restricted to provide special rooms for the domestic staff of the Duke and Duchess of Kent and their personal servants and other members of their suite. The Duchess of Kent will :be unable to launch the Royal mail liner Andes on March 7, and the ceremony will be performed bff Lady Craigmyle, wife of the former chairman of the P. and 0. Company. The Duke of Kent will probably be sworn-in as Governor-General of Australia at Canberra on November 21 or 22.
