EWE FAIR

PRICES AT TINWALD. CONCLUDING SALES YESTERDAY. Values which obtained early at the ewo fair at Tinwald yesterday were not maintained in the latter part of the sale, which was inclined to be erratic. Even sound-mouth sheep found no sale. There was a good attendance at the opening, but it was not as good as usual for a Tinwald fair, and comparatively few buyers remained until the finish at 6 p.m. The total yarding was about 24,000, compared with 40,000 last year, the decrease being due to the fact that the sale was confined to breeders’ sheep only. Four-tooths realised up to 22s 6d for 225 Romney sold for E. C. and H. White (Eiffelton), and 85 threequarterbred sold by Woodlands Farm, Ltd., while six-tooths brought up to 22s 9d for 124 three-quarter-bred entered by P. A. Read (Eiffelton).
