WOMEN’S DIVISION.

THE WESTERFIELD BRANCH. The Westerfield branch - of the Women’s Division of the Farmers' Union held its monthly meeting in the Rifle Club Room, the president (Mrs D. Shaw) presiding over a good attendance.

The president gave a comprehensive report on the meeting of the executive.

It was decided not to engage the A.O.E. tutor. Resignations were received from Mrs J. Finlay and Miss I. Findlay, who have left the district, and it was decided to send letters of appreciation to them.

The secretary was instructed to send a letter of cheer to Mrs V. W. Wright in hep* illness.

* It was agrqod to hold the next mooting in February. The roll rail “My favourite vegetable and 'how to cook it” proved very interesting.

Competitions resulted as follows; — Bod jacket: 'Mrs C. Calder and Mrs A. Lamb (equal) 1, Mrs I. Feehney 3. Oat cakes: .Mrs K. Campbell (equal) 1 (two entries), Mrs CL Watson 3, Mrs C. Calder 4. Weed posy. Mrs Calder 1, Mrs I). Shaw 2. Mrs Feehney 3. Fruit: Miss M. Shaw and Airs Shaw (equal) 1. Mrs Calder 2, Mrs Campbell 3. Vegetable: Mrs Cal die r 1,2, and 3. Flower: Mrs Calder and Mrs Lowery (equal) 1, Miss M. Li 11 2, Mrs I. Feehney 3. Shrub: Mrs Lowery 1, Mrs Calder 2 and 3. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mrs A. Lamb and Miss J. Langdon. I
