I THE NEW ZEALAND CHAMPION. REMOVAL TO CHRISTCHURCH. AUCKLAND, This Day. Auckland tennis will suffer a loss by the departure for Christchurch, next Monday, of the present Dominion champion, A. D. Brown, whose father, Mr J. G. Brown, has been transferred from the Post Office Savings Bank at Auckland, to Christchurch, and that means a move for the family. Brown has done exceptionally well since his arrival in Auckland six years ago from Wellington. A school hoy who had just left Wellington College last year, he won every tournament he played in, and that was topped off by the taking of the New Zealand title. Brown, who is now only 21, has just returned front a trip to England, made at his own expense to improve his game, and he should prove a valuable acquisition to the tennis strength of the South Island. THE COUNTRY COMPETITION. HINDS DEFEATS TTNWAIJD. In the second round of this country tennis competition Hinds beat Tinwald ,at Tinwald, hv 1.4 sets to 10 sets. The results were as follows, Hinds names- being mentioned first:—
