THE ASHBURTON CLUB. GRASS HILL CLIMB ARRANGED. Final arrangements for a grass hill climb at Cavendish on November 30, were made at the monthly meeting of the Ashburton Motor-Cycle Club last levelling. The president (Mr W. J. Dailey) presided over a. good, attendance. It was decided that some members make an inspection for a suitable climbing hill at Cavendish next Saturday morning. The classes lor Llie events in the elinub arc as follow: — 200 c.c., novice; up to 300 c.c., open ; unlimited, open; club championship, unlimited; 300 c.c., championship and unlimited handicap. The 300 c.c. championship is a new class and a trophy for annual competition lias byen' donated by Mr H. C. .Li Browning. Further arrangements wen 1 made for a run. to jYlotukarara next Sunday with this Pioneer Sports Club (Christ-' church). Preliminary preparations for the

sports day to be held at Hakatcro on Januai'v 2 were made. The club has taken over the management ot the sports from the Hakateiie Sports Club this year, and a comprehensive programme, has been mapped out. Highland dancing, boxing, wrestling and many motor-cycling events will be held, while a baby show and children s sports will also lie conducted. As usual tibterc will be a numbqr of side-shows on the sports ground. It was decided to hold a social evening on November 19.
