WOMEN’S INSTITUTE.
MEETING AT ALLENTON. The monthly meeting of the Allen ton Women’s Institute was held on Saturday, -when the president (Airs J. H. Stevens) presided over a very good attendance. The roll call was: “Talents I should choose and why.” Airs AT. Knox gave an interesting demonstration on bead bags, and Airs J. A. Walker one on quilting. Both demonstrations viere very much enjoyed The competitions were:—Bowl of chrysanthemums, Airs J. R. Alclnnes 1, Airs L. AlcNatty 2, Airs H- Greaves 3; premier bloom, Airs L. AlcNatty I, Airs L. A. Walker 2, Aliss Bonnington 3; shortbread, Mrs J. McElhinney 1, Miss Douglas 2, Airs J. McElhinney 3; knitted hot-water bag cover, Mrs F. Taylor 1, Airs H. Greaves 2, Mrs A. Walker 3. The hostesses were Alesdames E, C. Bathurst, Stewart, Horsey, and D. A. Morgam, and Miss Stewart.
