ACCIDENTS & DEATHS

UNIDENTIFIED MAN FOUND SHOT (Per Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, January 25. The decomposed and naked body of a. man whose identity is unknown, but whose age is thought to have been between 25 and 30, was found in reserve land at Waimairi, a short distance from the beach, at 3 o’clock this afternoon.

A double-barrelled, shotgun was lying beside the body, the triggers being tied with two strings leading to each of the man’s big toes. The man’s skull was smashed, apparently from a shotgun discharge. The shotgun contained one live and one discharged cartridge. There was lie clothing near the body.
