The coastal steamer Kakapo, on route from Westport to Auckland, has been diverted from her course to New Plymouth because of serious injuries to an officer.

Other than a wireless message to this effect details are meagre.

Though the ship was nearer V estport than New Plymouth when the decision to change course was made, the Kakapo could not turn back because of iienvv southerlv weather.
