NEGLIGENT DRIVING.
SEQUEL TO FATAL COLLISION. WELLINGTON, February 4. A verdict of guilty with a strong recommendation for mercy was returned by the jury in the Supreme Court to-day in the case in winch Lala Parchotam, an Indian fruiterer, was charged with negligently driving a motor-van so as to cause the death of Eric Malcolm Biel, who was a passenger in the van when it collided with a tram in Kent Terrace on August 10.
