FULLY FIRM

PRICES AT DUNEDIN WOOL SALE. STYLISH HALF-BRED IN DEMAND. AN ADVANCE IN CRUTCHINGS. (Per Press Association.) DUNEDIN, This Day. At the second wool sale to-day prices at the opening were fully firm on those at the first sale, held in December. Stylish half-bred wools sold under particularly good competition by overseas buyers as well, as local mills. The demand for merinos was inclined to be sluggish and, as was the case in December, hogget wools did not meet much competition. The highest price in the first catalogue was 19Jd for a line of 10 bales of first Corriedale ewe and wether wool from Roxburgh. Good half-breds brought from 16d to 17-Jd, medium half-breds 14;]d to 15Jd, fine cross-breds 11-Jd to 13d, eross-breds of 46-48 quality Bjd to 9)d for super lines, the average being 7J-cl to 7^d. Pieces and necks elicited keen competition, super lines bringing from 13. J-d to 15d, while other super lines of medium quality realised IOJd to 12)-d. There was a pronounced rise in the rates for orutchings, which advanced by almost a penny a pound.
