CHINESE FINED.
IN POSSESSION OF OPIUM. (Per Press Association). WELLINGTON, February 4. A fine of £25 was imposed on one Chinese for being found in possession of prepared opium. Three others were fined £ls for being found on premises used for the smoking of opium. The premises, which are in Haining Street, have been raided by the police, but it was stated that they wore invariably opened again under new management.
