TOURNAMENT AT ASHBURTON. REDCLIFFS PAIR WINNERS. The open pairs tournament conducted by the Ashburton Bowling Club on the Ashburton and Allenton greens yesterday was won by Stineman (s) and Prangell, of Redcliffs, who, after winning the section on the Allenton green, played off against McElhinney and J. W. Smith, the Ashburton green winners. The play-off was won by the visitors by seven to five. The tournament attracted good entries, including leading bowlers from many parts of Canterbury. Following are details of the results on each green:— Ashburton green McElhinney 4 wins, Dunlop 3, Featherston 3, Tatterson 3, Acton 3, Preddis 3, Rawlinson 2, Monk 1, Colquhoun 1. Allenton green—Stoneman 5 wins, Castle 4, McEachen 4, Holmes 31, W. R. Lane 2, Gowans 2, Templeton U. Christie 1, Breach 0.
