CANTERBURY CHAMPIONSHIPS. CROMIE WINS GOODHART CUP. CHRISTCHURCH, This Day, More than 66 competitors took part in the fourteenth annual championship meeting of the Canterbury Rifle Association held at the Redcliffs range yesterday. The light was good for most part of the day, as the sky was slightly overcast, but late in the afternoon tlie bright sun cuased some difficulty. The wind was light but baffling, and varied between north, northeast and east. The championship belt was won by AV. E. Jones, of Timaru, who also won the Heaton Rhodes Cup. Another visitor, Captain W. N. Masefield (Blenheim) won the Fox Cup. The teams’ championship was won by the Christchurch No. 3 team. The leading scores, together with those of Ashburton competitors, were: Canterbury Match, 300 yards—£3, A. Bruning (Christchurch) 48; £2, W. E. Jones (Timaru), 47; £1 10s, M.
