PAIRHAVEN WINS CUP. GORE, December 26. The Gore Trotting Club’s meeting was held in dull weather before a large attendance. The totalisator handled £12,936 10s, against £13,072 last year. In the Final Handicap, Red Spur fell, causing Sergeant Dallas to dislodge his driver, while Lynwood was interfered with and pulled up. R. W. Low, of Wingatui, the driver of Red Spur, suffered head injuries, and was admitted to hospital. A hostile demonstration was made against Ilium, the winner of the Summer Nursery Handicap. The stewards held an inquiry, and expressed the opinion that Ilium’s poor form last Saturday as compared with that shown to-day was due to the colt’s greenness. MELBOURNE, December 20. At the meeting at Caulfield to-dav Tv. Voitro, the New Zealand jockey, had a most successful day, for lie rode three winners in Scotch Lassie in the . Juvenile Stakes, The Monarch, in the Malvern Handicap, and Ogwell in the Christmas Handicap. He was also second on Gay Star in the Hopetoun Handicap.
