AUSTRALIANS AT DUNEDIN. HTGH-CLASS EXHIBITION. DUNEDIN, December 26. High-class tennis was provided nt the Logan Park courts this afternoon, when the visiting Australian players, V. McGrath and _ E. F. Moon, were seen in action against K. Bryan, E. G. Boddy, J. Rawlinson (Otago), and R. AA r . McCalluni (Southland). The best exhibition of the day was the singles match of the best of 1/ games between the two visitors, who gave a delightful display of accurate and easy stroking. McGarth, with his famous double-backhand much in evidence, was too good for the tall Queenslander, winning 9-2. Nevertheless, Moon showed himself to be a player of class seldom seen in Dunedin. In the matches against tho local players, the Australians were vastly
superior, the accurate placement, excellent length, and severity of their strokes making their opponents play on the defensive throughout. Bryan put up a creditable performance against McGrath, showing fine anticipation but he lacked experience and finish. Light rain fell at intervals, but it did not interfere with tho play. Results:— V. McGrath beat Iv. Bryan, 6-2, 0-3. E. F. Moon beat R. AV. McCalluni, 6-2, 6-0. McGrath beat Moon, 9-2. Moon and E. G. Boddy beat McGrath and J. Rawlinson, 4-6, 7-5, 6-0.
