ECLIPSE OF THE SUN.

EARLY ON THURSDAY MORNING. Those who rise early on Thursday morning—Boxing Dlay—will, if the sky is clear, see the sun rise in a state of partial eclipse, a little less than half its disc being obscured by the moon. This is an annular eclipse of the sun—; the last of the year’s many eclipses—but to see it as such it will be necessary to journey to South Polar regions. In all parts of New Zealand the eclipse will be visible only as a partial one.
