BOWLING.
THE METHVEN CLUB. The president (Mr R. F. Renai) presided over an attendance of 16 at the annual meeting of the Methven Bowling Club. The report stated that the past season had been a successful one. There had -been no entry made in the- County Pennant competitions, but friendly games had been played with Ashburton and Allenton Clubs. The membership ha'd increased by five over the previous season. The balance-sheet showed receipts as £72 7s 3d, and expenditure £sl 18s, and after paying off outstandings from the previous season amounting to £2O Is sd, a credit balance of 7s lOd was in hand.
The election of officers resulted:— Patron, Mr John Watson; president, Mr R. F. Renai (re-elected); vicepresidents, Mr H. E. Thomson and Mr S. Robinson; lion, secretary, Mr W. Booth (re-elected); lion, treasurer, Mr R. F. Renai; hon. auditor, Mr G. Currie; committee, Messrs J. A. Callaghan, P Campbell, G. Currie, A. S. Kennedy, and W. C. Lowery; green superintendent, Mr A. E. Henderson; green keeper, Mr J. Duff. It was ( decided not to enter in the County competitions this season. One member was elected. A vote of thanks was accorded to the outgoing officials. ASHBURTON v. CHRISTCHURCH. Four rinks from the Ashburton Bowling Club played a combined Christchurch team in Christchurch on Tuesday evening, Christchurch winning by 67 points to 61. Results were as follow (Ashburton skips first): —W. J. Minogue 12, B. J. Finnegan 15; W. R. Lane 14, WEft'crd 22; R. Mathieson 18, 11. B. Oakey 'l3; W. R. Featherston. 17, W. Healey 17. *
