The Ashburton County Cricket Association’s competitions will be continued to-morrow. Commenced a fortnight ago, the Mid-Canterbury Lawn Tennis SubAssociation’s Gala Cup contests will be concluded on the Ashburton and Te Marae courts. The Ashburton Golf Club wall commence its winter season activities with an 18-hole mixed foursome. Considerable interest will be taken in the Ashburton County Primary Schools’ Sports Association’s annual athletic sports in the Ashburton Domain, opening at 11.30 to-morrow morning. Entries total 1500 and competition will be keen throughout. Allenton and Methven Bowling Clubs will meet in q> friendly match at Allenton. The annual road hill climb championship of the Ashburton Motor-cycle Club will be held at Happy Valley (Methven) on Sunday. Six classes have been arranged and riders are anticipating some keen competition.
