TO-DAY'S FORECAST (Per PxeßS Association). WELLINGTON, This Day. The Government Meteorologist, at noon to-day, issued the following statement regarding the weather: — General inference: An intense anticyclone still covers the Dominion, the centre being over the South Island. Pressure is falling at Norfolk Island with the approach of a depression from the north. The forecast for the east coast of the South Island from Blenheim to Oamaru is as follows: Light to fresh south-easterly to north-east winds. Weather cloudy on coast,-but otherwise fine. Seas rather rough in Cook Strait, elsewhere moderate.
