A GARDEN CITY.

MELBOURNE JUSTIFIED. GREAT FLORAL PAGEANT. (United Press Association—Copyright). MELBOURNE, October 26. Despite the postponement of the floral pageant through bad weather, the event, when held to-day, was the most spectacular- and colourful procession ever seen in the streets of Melbourne. A crowd of a hundred thousand people lined the footpaths, roofs and windows, traffic being suspended. The Grenadier Guards and 15 other bands took part. All the floats florally depicted incidents in the last hundred Years' history. The wealth of flowers displayed justified Melbourne's claim of being a garden city.
