The Public Prosecutor has appealed against tho sentences imposed on the Communists whose case was hoard'on Friday, presumably on account of their mildness. They will probably be tried again. The Storm Troopers’ protests in .the Court developed into scenes unparalleled in the history of the German Courts. When the sentences began with terms of seven years’ the Brown Shirts shouted: “Shameful! Down with the Judge.” The climax came when their leader, addressing the Judge, yelled: “We wfint justice on these murderers. The verdict is shameful.” The Judge then ordered officials to clear the galleries, and the Brown Shirts resisted, resulting in a free fight with the police until they were ejected. The Judge withheld the imposition of the sentences for an hour, during which period the Brown Shires vigorously protested to the Prussian Minister of Justice. Consequently when the sitting was resumed, the State Secretary (Dr. Freisler) appeared in Court and, ignoring the Judge, addressed’ the Storm Troopers, who had reassembled ‘Let us hear the Court’s decision,” he said, “but the Minister will examine the case and any future action will rest on his decision.”

The Judge then the imposition of the sentences.
