WALKER BEATS PATTERSON. {Per Press Association). HASTINGS, September 12. In the most colourful bout hero during this season, George Walker defeated Jack Patterson by two falls to one before a record attendance, Patterson, who was substituted for Pereira at the last minute, gave the crowd r'enty of excitement with many incidents. The first fall went to Patterson in the third round with a variation of the cradle hold. The American bustled the champion till near the end of the sixth round when Walker evened up the falls with a barred toehold. Within a half minute of the resumption, Walker secured the winning fall, Patterson submitting to a double barred toehold.
