PETER PAN WITHDRAWN SYDNEY, September 12. Peter Pan is being relieved of nil spring engagements and will be spoiled indefinitely. Peter Pan pulled up iame after a working gallop .this m rnmg. His withdrawal will have an impvtant bearing on the Melbourne Cup, although most racing men anticipated that all was not well with the champion. Silver Scorn is now very fit and is expected to justify her New Zealand reputation shortly. Autopay is still under a cloud. The New Zealand horses Bay Tree, Cottesmore, Korokio, Deputy Ruler, Golden Hair, Amnion Ra, Closing Time, Persian and £a*fari are all likely to take * n t ' l6 mid-week meeting at Rosebery .to-morrow. COUNTERPLAY'S WIN. SYDNEY, September 12. The three-year-old handicap at the Kembla Grange races to-day was won by the New Zealand horse, Couuterplay. The distance was four and a-half furlongs. LORD GLANLEY'S COLOMBO. ENGLAND'S UNBEATEN TWO-YEAR-OLD. An English writer .sa) r s that the outstanding feature of the Goodwood meeting was the performance of Colombo, Lord Glanley's unbeaten colt, who is said to have as much as a stone in hand as compared with his rivals of the same age. Gordon Richards is reported to be so keen to ride him next year that he may change his engagements. At the present time he is the first jockey to the Beckhampton stable, and, unless some special arrangement were made to release him, this would prevent his riding Colombo. It is also reported that just prior to the race Colombo broke a plate and there being no time to have him reshod, he raced and won with one bare foot.
